| Pang Ma Pha District Pang Ma Pha district was located 67 km up north of Mae Hong Son province. It has pleasant landscape around with a lot of high mountain ranges, most of the citizens are hill tribes in many races such as Lisu, Lahu who live among town people. The interesting place in the district is Lod Cave, it is a big cave with Lang river passes through, the tourists can have a visit in all seasons. Besides, in the district area there are lots of caves that have been explored for example: Pha Pueg cave, Pha Daeng cave, Pang Kaam cave, Num Tok cave, Susa cave, Pha Mawn cave, Mae Lana cave, and Baw Pee cave. Any way, it is difficult to have a visit, in case of, there is still nothing convenience to provide for visiting including the long deep and trouble distance of some caves. Therefore, these caves are suitable for the tourists who love an adventure only.
Tham Lod Cave Forest Park.
is situated in a forest in Pang Mapha district some 77 kilometers from town. Here nature has created an exotic subterranean wonder of darkness and mystery. A brook runs from the cave mouth through to the other side of the mountain. It is a route where visitors may travel by raft or by foot to explore the 1 kilometer-long cave along which can be found beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Also discovered are 2,000 year old remains of utensils to guide visitors in their exploration.
Another cave in Pang Mapha where stalactites and stalagmites can be found is the Mae Lana Cave. The stream inside the cave is habitat to eyeless and colorless fish that live in dark environment. This cave is suitable only for adventurous tourists. Travel along Route 1095, then branch off into Route 1226 to Ban Mae Lana where a local guide is available. Mae Lana Cave is 4 kilometers beyond the village.
Baan Bor Krai Home Stay
It is Lahu’s village (one of hill tribe) located in Pang Ma Pha district area. There has an activity that is: to stay overnight with the villagers.
