Mae Hong Son has several tour operators that specialize in trekking. Treks are designed to expose visitors to splendor nature , a ways of getting to see the mountain villages and learn the lifestyle of people. The adventure may combine jungle walks with elephant riding and a few hours bamboo rafting , staying with hill tribes people. The cool winter months of November to February are the best time to travel. In the dry months between March and May, the high temperature is uncomfortable for strenuous mountain hikes.
